Road to Knowhere is the first episode of Season 1 and the first episode overall of Guardians of the Galaxy. The audience for this episode reached up to 0.39.[2][3][4]

Plot[]

Star-Lord leads his fellow team members Gamora, Drax the Destroyer, Rocket Raccoon and Groot into raiding an alien prison to spring Yondu. They learn from him that Korath the Pursuer has a Spartax artifact that he plans to give to Thanos. After getting the artifact from Korath the Pursuer, the Guardians of the Galaxy head to Knowhere (a colony in the severed head of a Celestial). While Drax, Rocket Raccoon and Groot's stick form meet Cosmo the Spacedog (who is the head of security on Knowhere), Star-Lord learns from an alien broker that he is part Spartax. When Korath the Pursuer's group and Yondu's Ravagers attack the Guardians of the Galaxy to claim the Spartax artifact, Knowhere starts to come to life and ensnare everyone.[5][6]

  • Hooked on the Feeling being played at the beginning of the episode is a nod to the film. Where It was meant to be played at Star-Lord's dance at the beginning of the film before settling to "Come and Get Your Love".

Cultural References[]

  • The episode title is a reference to the 1985 New Wave song "Road to Nowhere" by American New Wave band The Talking Heads.
  • Star-Lord calls Korath "Cory-Something". A Reference to Cory Matthews in Boy Meets World in which Will Friedle was also in as Cory's older brother eric.
